Cool As Funk is a professional drum school based in South Tyneside. Teaching all aspects of drumming required by today’s modern drummer.

Founded by Neal Wood and Sid Wright who have written original solos, workouts and material devised around subjects and techniques that are not only interesting, challenging but also fun to play.

Compositions are written in funk, jazz and rock styles for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

Double bass drumming and Marching drumming solos are available to the more advanced students alongside the chance to play along to your favourite tracks through our resident house PA system creating the feel of working in a real band situation.

With over 25 years of teaching experience our goal is to produce the finest drummers in the region and keep our equipment and drum tuition to the highest standard.
